Biography
Oriol Márquez Cateura, better known as Uri KTHR, is a Spanish muralist born in the 1990s in Molins de Rei (Barcelona) and based in L'Ametlla de Mar, Tarragona. A Fine Arts graduate of the University of Barcelona, he developed a full-time mural practice straight after his studies.
His politically engaged work explores the relationship between ecological crisis and the resilience of nature, through hyper-realist female portraits embedded in symbolic devices (hourglasses, closed jars, miniature ecosystems). The contrast between the precision of the flesh and the anxiety of the ecological subject is his signature.
He paints across Spain (Catalonia, Castile, Andalusia) and at festivals in Sweden, Portugal and Italy. He also directs the Efímurs festival in L'Ametlla de Mar. His THE MESSENGER mural in La Bañeza (2024) ranked 12th best mural in the world on Street Art Cities, and Oda al Progres in Torrefarrera (2023) won the Torrefarrera Street Art Festival prize.
