Biography
Sebastián Hernández Díaz, better known as Sbah, is a Spanish artist born in 1990 in Mazarrón, in the Murcia region. A former primary school teacher turned full-time muralist, he made his name from 2020 with very large-format murals - often painted on the ground or on huge gable ends - that combine meticulous photo-realism with an almost cinematographic composition.
His subjects draw on the Spanish collective imagination: classical dancers, gymnasts, athletes, popular figures, rendered in acid palettes that play with urban surfaces (sports courts, squares, façades). The ground work introduces a novel drone perspective which has become a signature visual language.
He has painted across the Murcia region (Aire in Santiago de la Ribera, 2024), in Mazarrón, Cartagena and at national festivals. Aire was voted Best Mural of the World for May 2024 by Street Art Cities and ranks among the best murals of the year.
