Biography
Chekos'Art, born Francesco Ferreri in 1977 in Lecce, southern Italy, began his artistic career in Milan in 1995 as a graffiti writer at the age of 13. A graphic artist, muralist and street artist, he travelled through Eastern Europe, India and New York before returning to Puglia in 2008. In 2009 he founded the Street Art South Italy platform, and in 2012 co-founded 167/B Street, an urban art laboratory in Lecce. His large-scale murals combine photographic portraiture, optical layering and stencil to explore social and historical memory. He has participated in festivals and projects across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
