Biography

Judith de Leeuw, known as JDL Street Art, is a Dutch muralist born in Amsterdam in 1995. She has painted since her teens and broke through internationally after her 2016 Amy Winehouse mural in Amsterdam went viral. Her photorealistic black-and-white figures, punctuated with bursts of turquoise or red, address inequality, injustice and human vulnerability. She has painted monumental works in over 41 countries, including her 2025 weeping Statue of Liberty mural that reached more than 34 million viewers worldwide.
