Biography

Vyacheslav "Slava" Osinski, known as OSTAP, was born in 1978 in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine (then USSR), and has been based in Berlin since 1995. After studying architecture in Ukraine, he trained as an offset and screen printer in Germany before turning to street art. He rose to prominence on the Berlin scene from 2013, pioneering an approach that blends tape art (duct and packing tape) with stenciling and spray paint. His work stages dialogues between contemporary culture and classical masters - particularly Klimt and Van Gogh - reimagined at architectural scale. His mural "Lady in Cement (Adele with Shaurma)" in Berlin is one of his most celebrated pieces, offering an ironic take on Klimt's Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer.
