Biography

Nessé, real name Jérôme Favre, is a French muralist based in Grenoble, active since the early 1990s. A graduate of the Grenoble School of Architecture, he founded the Rocade Sud collective, now known as Ambiance Murale, and specialises in monumental frescoes and trompe-l'œil murals painted with mineral or acrylic paint on lime plaster. His landmark project covers more than 700 metres of pillars along the Estacade railway viaduct above Cours Jean Jaurès in Grenoble, depicting market scenes, railway history and the daily life of the neighbourhood. He regularly works across the French Alps and the south of France, reviving façades, metal shutters, train stations and underpasses.
