Biography
Jamie Paul Scanlon, known as JPS, was born in 1977 in Weston-Super-Mare, near Bristol, UK. After losing his father at 18 and two close friends to murder, he spent twelve years battling addiction and homelessness. A stencil art exhibition in Bristol in 2009 proved transformative, inspiring him to rebuild his life through art. JPS developed a versatile stencil-based style spanning pop culture references, horror characters, large-scale dinosaur murals, micro-stencils, and witty wordplay, always integrating the urban environment into the composition. Now based in Germany, his work can be found across Europe and beyond.
