Biography

Sergej Alexander Dott is a German artist born in 1959 in Berlin, where he lives and works. A sculptor, painter, photographer and installation artist, he describes himself as a "nomad between the arts" and has been building a playful pop-art body of work since the 1990s, blending monumental urban interventions, sculptures and neon installations. He is best known for his life-sized cows climbing the gable walls of Prenzlauer Berg ("Kuh(u)nst", 2001, Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Straße; "Return of the Cows", Kollwitzstraße 18) and for the "Himmelsblumen", giant roses installed on Potsdamer Platz to mark the 5th anniversary of the Daimler Quarter. His work is held in public and private collections in Germany and abroad, including the Hermitage in Saint Petersburg.
