Biography
MATE, real name Matteo De Martin Pinter, is an Italian artist born near Milan and based in Berlin. Trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, he has been painting murals since 2008, gradually shifting from graffiti to a meticulous figurative realism. His work tackles social themes through photorealistic compositions — hands, portraits and everyday scenes — designed to make art accessible in public space. He has painted across Italy, Europe, Kosovo and Brazil, and notably contributed to the Urban Nation Museum's Community Wall 2023 and the Teufelsberg mural project in Berlin.
