Matthias Gephart

Matthias Gephart, a German graphic designer and street artist from Bochum, discovered graffiti in 1988 before founding his studio Disturbanity Graphics in 2003, based in Berlin since 2007. His hybrid practice blends graffiti typography, Dadaist collage, black-and-white photography and graphic activism, rooted in underground music and alternative scenes. He published the monograph "Rare Shots on Planet X" (Verlag Kettler, 416 pages covering 1988–2015), awarded by Creative Quarterly. He regularly collaborates with his brother Felix on landmark Berlin murals, notably "Moralismo" and "Hacked" at the RAW Gelände.
