Dalia Juodakytė & Laurynas Lubys

Dalia Juodakytė and Laurynas Lubys are a Lithuanian artist duo based in Vilnius. Dalia Juodakytė holds a Master's degree in printmaking from the Vilnius Academy of Arts (2016) and works as a painter, sculptor and performer between Lithuania and Paris. Together with Laurynas Lubys, she created “明るい目の金 (Bright Eyes of Gold)” at Open Gallery — the open-air street art gallery installed on the former ELFA factory grounds in the Naujamiestis district. The piece consists of three life-sized casts of Michelangelo's David head made of polyurethane and silicone, with glowing artificial-coloured eyes. The artists describe it as “a monument to vaporwave”, a pop and digital-age reinterpretation of classical sculpture.
