Biography

Gyva Grafika is a Lithuanian street art collective founded in 2013 and based in Kaunas. Built around artists Tadas Simkus and Zygimantas Amelynas alongside architect Karolina Simkiene, the studio specialises in large-scale murals and facade paintings. Their landmark piece "The Wise Old Man" (440 sqm, on Jonavos Street in Kaunas) pays tribute to Jurgis Maciunas, founder of the Fluxus movement. In December 2022 Gyva Grafika painted a Vilnius mural honouring imprisoned Belarusian Nobel Peace laureate Ales Bialiatski, on the facade of the Simonas Daukantas school.
