Biography
Zoe Sever is an Israeli artist born in 1974 in Lviv, Ukraine, who moved to Tel Aviv in 1990. A graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem, where she studied architecture (2001), she developed a distinctive style blending naivism and modernism through a shimmering color palette. Her work depicts an idealized realism of Israeli landscapes - the Tel Aviv skyline, the Old City of Jerusalem, the seawalls of Acre - often populated by donkeys, sheep, and swirling skies. In 2023 she designed the monumental mural "Sveikas, Vilniau!" in Vilnius, a gift from the Israeli embassy marking the 700th anniversary of the city and 30 years of diplomatic relations between Israel and Lithuania.
