Žygimantas Amelynas

Žygimantas Amelynas is a Lithuanian muralist born in Kaunas in 1988. Co-founder of the Gyva Grafika collective, he has established himself as one of the leading figures of Lithuanian street art. His first monumental piece, Old Wise Man (2013), a tribute to Fluxus artist Jurgis Mačiūnas painted on a former Kaunas footwear factory, helped reshape public perception of street art across the country. Known for large-scale black-and-white portraits with intense expressive power, he painted a tribute to filmmaker Jonas Mekas in Vilnius's Užupis district in 2022, then created the Protect the Future mural commissioned by NATO in 2024 to mark the Alliance's 75th anniversary.
