Biography
Marka27 — born Victor Quiñonez in Juárez, Mexico, and raised in Dallas, Texas — is an internationally renowned street artist and muralist. A graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University (BFA 2003), he pioneered a style he calls "Neo Indigenous," weaving Mexican and Indigenous visual heritage with street culture, pop art, and large-scale public art. His landmark murals include "The Dreamer" at Assembly Row in Somerville, MA, and multiple installations at Underground Ink Block in Boston. In 2016, he co-founded Street Theory, an award-winning creative agency based in Cambridge and Brooklyn, with his wife and collaborator Liza Quiñonez.
