Biography
Cone The Weird, real name Colin Kaesekamp, is a German artist born in Munich in 1979 and based in Saarbrücken since his communication design studies at HBKsaar. A member of the Vienna-based collective The Weird since 2011 (alongside Nychos, Dxtr, Frau Isa, Low Bros and others), he has been developing a dense, meticulous black-and-white universe since 2006, populated by distorted figures and organic ornament drawn from late-medieval woodcuts, surrealism and record-cover design. His landmark mural "Die Antonymie" (2017), painted as part of Saarbrücken's Urban ArtWalk, depicts two opposing figures with hollow heads pierced by staircases. He paints regularly across the Greater Region (Germany, France, Luxembourg, Belgium) and co-founded the Bureau Stabil design studio in Saarbrücken.
