Jean-Marc Rochette

Biography

Jean-Marc Rochette (born 1956 in Baden-Baden) is a French painter, illustrator, and graphic novelist. He co-created Le Transperceneige with Jacques Lob, adapted to cinema by Bong Joon-ho (Snowpiercer, 2013) and into a Netflix series (2020). Based in Grenoble, he moves between classical illustration — Voltaire's Candide, Homer's Odyssey — and politically engaged murals such as 32 bilan provisoire (2022), thirty-two eyes painted in tribute to protesters blinded by police during the Yellow Vests movement.
