Nesta

Nesta — born Thibault Hermann in 1976 — is a French street artist based in Grenoble. He joined the graffiti collective Force Urbaine in 1998 and gradually developed a distinctive visual language in which calligraphic letterforms merge with lush vegetal patterns. His instantly recognisable palette of turquoise blues and his ornate compositions have made him one of the leading figures of the Grenoble urban art scene.

Co-founder of the WorkSpray studio with longtime collaborator Short79, the artist is a regular at the Street Art Fest Grenoble-Alpes, the major European urban art festival run by Spacejunk. In 2016 the duo painted "Ubi Sum Ibi Moveo" on the façade of the Maison des Associations in Grenoble, where a hidden Latin phrase woven into the lettering converses with an underwater botanical universe. Beyond his solo and duo work, he is also active within several collectives — DKA, TVA, ARM — and under the "Rock Your World" banner.

Represented by Galerie Vent des Cimes and Urbaneez, his practice claims the legacy of graffiti while borrowing from optical art — the influence of Vasarely is visible in the rigour of his compositions. Between public commissions, large-scale murals and studio work, his output blurs the boundaries between urban lettering, botanical illustration and graphic experimentation.
