Biography

RAM is the alias of Portuguese visual artist Miguel Caeiro, born in the Sintra region. He started painting on the streets in the late 1990s and committed fully to graffiti from 2000 onward, leaving behind earlier work in graphic design and teaching.

His visual language brings together the energy of action painting, the roughness of graffiti and a psychedelic sensibility. The artist favors color explosions, dynamic forms and a cosmic imagery that explores the primal forces of nature, ethereal worlds and dreamlike landscapes. The piece "Last Man Standing", painted in an abandoned factory in Lisbon, has become one of his most recognizable works.

Since the early 2000s, he has produced large-scale murals, installations and canvases shown by several Portuguese and European galleries (Because Art Matters, Artsper, Dirk Stuyvesant). He took part in the 2016 edition of the MURO festival in Lisbon, where he painted the "RLX Portals" diptych in the Bairro Padre Cruz neighborhood.
