Biography

UNTAY, whose real name is Boaz Sides, is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Tel Aviv and Budapest, active internationally since the early 2010s. A graduate in visual communications from HIT (Holon Institute of Technology), he began painting the walls of Tel Aviv after completing his studies and quickly developed a recognisable visual language combining expressionist graffiti, alternative illustration, and tattoo art.

His best-known series, 'Rabbit My Life', features red characters masked with rabbit ears, symbols of hybrid identities and fragility in the contemporary world. Inspired by Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt, and the 1990s grunge scene, he works in oil, aerosol, and watercolour with equal ease, crossing the boundaries between street art and gallery art. His outdoor works have been created in the streets of Tel Aviv, Budapest, Prague, and several European cities.

Co-founder in 2014 of the Prettimess Collective, which has produced and curated more than 20 exhibitions featuring 50 Israeli and international artists, UNTAY is also recognised as a curator and organiser of alternative art events. His works are represented by Dan Gallery (Tel Aviv) and have been exhibited in institutions and galleries in Israel and across Europe.
