Andrii Palval

Biography

Andrii Palval was born in 1983 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He began painting on the streets of his city in the early 2000s, gradually developing a mural practice centred on near-photorealistic animal imagery. His birds with outstretched wings and large mammals rendered with meticulous precision have become his visual signature, recognisable on walls across several European countries.

Based in Kyiv until February 2022, he left Ukraine following the Russian invasion and settled in Sofia, Bulgaria, where he continues to work. That same year he participated in the Hit the North festival in Belfast and the Waterford Walls festival in Ireland, co-creating a distributed triptych entitled 'Nesting Time' with other artists. In 2023, he completed his most ambitious work: a 42-metre-high mural on the GoodMills Bulgaria silos in Sofia, covering approximately 4,000 m² — the largest silo mural in Europe.

His works have been shown at international festivals in Italy, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Bulgaria. Palval is listed on Street Art Cities and regularly takes part in public commission projects across Europe.
