Biography
Dejan Davchevski is a mural artist based in Skopje, North Macedonia, recognized for his commitment to socially engaged public art. His work draws on the tradition of participatory murals, often created in collaboration with young people in school or community settings. He believes that street art represents a free and effective form of expression for building bridges between communities, reducing prejudice, and combating hate speech.
In April 2022, Davchevski painted a mural on the wall of Josip Broz Tito High School in Skopje as part of the "Block the Hatred. Share the Love!" campaign, a joint initiative of the European Union and the Council of Europe. The colorful, typographic work bears the Cyrillic message "Сподели Љубов" (Share the Love), addressed directly to students and the local community.
His approach blends lettering graffiti aesthetics with civic messaging, using color and words as tools of social transformation. Davchevski emphasizes art's capacity to help young people understand that, despite their differences, they share common values.
