Biography
Projeto Ruido is a Portuguese mural duo based in Porto, made up of Frederico Draw and Rodrigo Miguel. Active since the mid-2010s, it develops a monumental figurative painting centred on portraiture: faces of residents, workers and elders rendered in black and white or ochre, with charcoal-like linework and strong contrasts.
Their approach is documentary: before each mural they meet the neighbourhood's residents, collect archive photographs and oral histories, and recover forgotten figures of local memory. This process has led them to paint across Portugal, Spain, France, Morocco and Latin America.
They take part regularly in European mural festivals including Asalto in Zaragoza, Parees in Oviedo and Muro Festival in Porto. Their interventions combine public commissions, interviews with neighbourhood associations and large-scale restitution.
