Biography
Tina Chertova is a muralist and activist born in Tbilisi, Georgia. Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in human rights, gender equality and social justice. Her large-scale murals depict female figures drawn from Georgian history and contemporary society, addressing subjects that remain taboo in the Caucasian public sphere.
Among her most notable projects are the Women of Georgia series, celebrating remarkable women across diverse professions, and Dreamingstan (2016), a visual exploration of contemporary Georgian culture through imaginary characters. She has collaborated with UN Women as part of the Mural Artivism: Breaking the Walls of Gender Inequality initiative, and has participated in urban art festivals across Europe, including IBUg 2023 in Leipzig.
Her work can be found in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and several European cities. She works at the intersection of mural painting and activism, using walls as a medium to make visible the narratives often absent from public space.
