Biography
Noyna, whose real name is Olena Noyna, is a Ukrainian painter based in Kyiv. Originally from Pryluky, she works in close collaboration with muralist Vitaliy Gidevan, her partner, forming an artistic duo well known in the Ukrainian mural scene. Together they have created numerous large-scale murals in various Ukrainian cities, including a monumental Cossack in Pryluky and several works in the capital.
Since the start of the full-scale war in 2022, Noyna and Gidevan have dedicated themselves to painting patriotic murals celebrating Ukraine's defenders. Their work combines figurative realism with national symbolism, featuring compositions centered on military or civilian figures who have marked Ukrainian resistance. In June 2023, the duo unveiled the mural "Запорізький месник" (The Zaporizhian Avenger) on Yaroslavska Street in Kyiv, dedicated to soldier Roman Hlombi, a Hero of Ukraine.
Their works are supported by Ukrainian military institutions, notably the National Guard, and have been covered by national and international media including Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and AFP.
