Biography
SubyOne (Trang Suby) is a Franco-Vietnamese graffiti artist born in Paris, now based in Ho Chi Minh City. He began tagging in the Paris metro in the early 1990s, learning his craft from neighborhood graffiti writers, before spending five years painting RATP trains. His artistic identity was built around lettering and colorful characters characteristic of the European graffiti scene.
Around 2010, he chose to reconnect with his Vietnamese roots and moved to Saigon, where he actively contributed to the development of the local street art scene. He co-organizes festivals, collaborates with galleries such as The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre, and venues including Anan Saigon and Belgo. His works appear on building facades in the Da Kao neighborhood, in alleys of District 1, and in private cultural spaces.
In December 2021, he participated in the Saigon Urban Arts (SUA) festival, organized by the Institut français and the Goethe-Institut, painting alongside four other artists on the buildings of Nguyễn Đình Chiểu Street, making this project one of the most documented mural interventions in the city.
