Biography
Jacoba Niepoort is a Danish visual artist born in 1987, based in Copenhagen. She has been creating large-scale murals and works on paper in public spaces since 2009, working across Europe, North America and Latin America.
Her practice explores human vulnerability, connection and presence. Her compositions feature intertwined bodies rendered in broad translucent brushstrokes or dense monochromatic lines, evoking both psychological complexity and a sense of organic solidarity. She deliberately embraces imperfections — drips, smudges and visible corrections — as a counterpoint to commercialised urban imagery.
Niepoort has participated in numerous international festivals including Nuart Aberdeen (2022), Home Muralfest, and the Urban Art Festival Styria in Graz. Her work has been featured in Juxtapoz, Brooklyn Street Art and Colossal.
