Biography
Tag Lady is a mosaicist based in Orléans, originally from the Butte-aux-Cailles district of Paris. She has been installing pieces since the mid-2020s, encouraged by friends, and works at night, with no map and no route planned in advance.
Her repertoire comes from popular culture: comic book characters, Disney figures and cartoon heroes, Snoopy among them, rendered in coloured tiles and accompanied by anecdotes that belong to the piece as much as the image does. The palette is bright, against the restraint often found in urban mosaic.
Her pieces can be found in Orléans and in Blois, where she took part in the Plein les Yeux urban art event alongside other artists. She belongs to the generation of mosaicists that emerged in Invader's wake, shifting the pixel art vocabulary towards imaginations other than that of arcade games.
