Biography
Nicolas Perruche trained as a draughtsman and is a self-taught musician, two practices he pursued side by side before devoting his exhibitions to the animal world alone. The animal kingdom is less a subject for him than a question, taken up series after series without ever being exhausted.
His works are most often in black and white, lifted with blue tints that give them their melancholy. He works in Chinese ink and acrylic, readily on large sheets of card, which leaves the substance of the support a part in the final result.
Two years spent in the south of France, between 2012 and 2014, triggered that direction: there he watched the passing of the seasons and the wildlife around him. Among his commissions is La Grande Parade, a four-week mural made for an orthopaedic surgery unit, which sets marine wildlife handled in blue against African savannah wildlife handled in green.
