Biography

AERO is a Breton painter whose speciality is the hyperrealist mural portrait, a demanding discipline that requires holding a likeness across several storeys. His faces rank among the most noticed pieces on the Rennes scene.

The work does not stop at portraiture. In Vannes, where he is a reference point, he pairs contemporary calligraphy with stylised Celtic symbols, explicitly linking the Breton past to the urban present. That articulation between regional heritage and graffiti vocabulary is rare: most painters working on local identity do so illustratively, not through lettering.

His walls are in Rennes, Quimper, Vannes and Nantes, and the work has crossed the border into Spain. Brittany, which has built itself a genuine urban art geography over twenty years, from Brest to Saint-Brieuc, provides both ground and audience for this kind of practice.
