Biography

Shure is a French graffiti writer and painter who has been working for around twenty years in France and across Europe. A member of the CSX crew, he is also one of the founders of VMS, and belongs to the Renart collective.

Coming out of lettering, he kept its sense of structure while abandoning legibility. His recent pieces are built from accumulation: interlocking geometric shapes, stacks, assemblages of fragments pushing against one another until they saturate the surface. Pieces of buildings are recognisable in them without any overall view ever emerging.

That vocabulary serves a precise subject, mass urbanisation and what it produces. By playing on the codes of a suffocating, almost organic architecture, he proposes a city in continuous motion, building and covering over itself. The artist exhibits regularly and takes part in graffiti gatherings, including Meeting of Styles.
