Biography
Mabel Vicentef comes from San Isidro, in Buenos Aires province, and first worked as a set designer for film and theatre before moving to walls. Largely self-taught, she painted her first outdoor mural in a small town in Córdoba province, an experience that set the course of her career.
Her surreal images blend people and nature and play with shifts in scale. Birds of the Paraná delta, such as herons, storks and geese, appear often, as do social issues, women's roles and human rights. In 2023 she covered 260 square metres in the courtyard of Ciudad Cultural Konex in Buenos Aires, and she has painted in Mexico, New Zealand, the United States, Croatia, Bosnia, Morocco and Portugal, where she took part in the Muro LX festival.
In La Bañeza she painted "Los peces guardados" (The saved fish) for Art Aero Rap, a work documented in 2021.
