Biography

Liam Bononi is a Brazilian street artist living in the United Kingdom, based in Liverpool since 2019. Self-taught, he started painting graffiti in 2007 and built a realist style that keeps the drips and splashes of street painting, working with acrylics, spray paint and dry pastels. Expressive eyes and hands run through most of his portraits.

His figures deal with intense emotional states, introspection and personal change, often broken into fragments that suggest a transformation under way. His walls can be found across Liverpool, including a 50ft face near the Anglican Cathedral, as well as in Brazil, Italy, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, and he painted at London Mural Festival in 2024.

For the Art Aero Rap festival in La Bañeza he painted a mural drawn from the muted greys left by wildfire smoke, which was among the Street Art Cities nominees for best artwork in the world in August 2025.
