Biography

Dúo Amazonas is a Latin American muralist pair formed in 2017 by Argentine painter Nati Andreoli and Colombian painter Lina Castellanos. They met in Buenos Aires in 2016 while taking large-format painting classes with muralist Lean Frizzera, and began taking their work onto the street together.

Their walls center on the human figure, on women and on small everyday moments, with an openly feminist outlook and close attention to light. Each project starts with research into the site and with photographs the two artists take themselves, an approach they describe as a community exercise shaped by its context.

The duo has painted in Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, the United States, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Serbia, Kosovo, Austria, Sweden and Switzerland. Now based in Madrid, they opened Espacio Amazonas there in 2023, a studio and cultural space supporting migrant artists. In La Bañeza they painted the mural "Juntas" for the 2019 Art Aero Rap festival.
