Biography

Camilo Núñez, known as Theic, is a Uruguayan artist based in Lisbon. A professional artist since 2008, he works in painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and textile design. He studied industrial design at the Universidad de la República in Montevideo, where he met Florencia Durán (Fitz), with whom he founded Colectivo Licuado.

The collective paints large figurative murals across Latin America, Europe and Asia, adapting each wall's story and palette to its location; in Montevideo they painted a wall for the Cinemateca on Avenida 18 de Julio in 2017. In his solo work he focuses on the human figure and draws on Greek mythology and classical art, with an interest in South American identity.

In La Bañeza, next to the courthouse, he painted Pandora y Epimeteo, in which both figures open Pandora's box together, questioning the blame the myth places on the woman alone. He also painted Calypso on Gozo, Malta, for the ART4SEA project.
