Biography
Based in Barcelona, Emilio Cerezo produces instinctive work close to abstract expressionism. Gesture is fully embraced and becomes the main element of his paintings.
The marks left by his tools record the energy that goes into each piece. That drive is carried by bold palettes of bright, warm colours, taking shape in loose, organic fields that interact with interlaced patterns.
The result is colourful abstract compositions in which pictorial chaos is carefully organised. In 2024 he painted the tall gable of a building on Avenue Jean Monnet in Caen for the Palma festival.
