Biography
Andreas Samuelsson lives and works in Gothenburg, Sweden. He finds inspiration in everyday life: a cup of coffee, a cigarette, swimming or jazz.
He is fond of objects such as records, ping-pong bats and trumpets, which he pares down to their essence. The result is stylised, stripped-back shapes that he combines freely into bright, crisp and distinctive images.
As an illustrator he has worked for Adidas, Google, Nike, Der Spiegel, The New York Times and The New Yorker. In 2022 he painted the tower of Le Dôme in Caen for the Palma festival, as part of the city's Caen Nordic programme.
