Biography

Alexandre Dizac, known as Alëxone, was born in Paris in 1976 and grew up in the Paris region. He discovered graffiti at 12 or 13 and first made a name as Œdipe, painting calligraphy on site. From 2004 to 2007 he lived in Belgium, where he held his first major show in Brussels.

He then turned to figurative work. His humorous, colourful world is populated by penguins, dogs, horses, masked elephants and long-nosed bandits, painted in flat colours outlined in dark strokes and often set against lettering and speech bubbles.

He has shown at the Centre Pompidou and the Fondation Cartier and now describes himself as a contemporary painter. The Palma festival invited him to Caen in 2021.
