Biography
Istraille is a mural painter from the Pays Bigouden area of Brittany whose work links Breton heritage with urban art. The practice combines three media, oil paint, acrylic and spray paint, with a realistic finish. Recent work draws on traditional Breton lace and headdresses.
In 2025 the artist was permanently represented by Galerie Maner in Pont-Aven, Art Club Gallery in Paris and Lyon, and Signature Fine Art in Miami. Past appearances include Colors Festival in Paris, alongside murals painted across Finistère, Côtes-d'Armor and Morbihan.
In September 2025, during the Shake Art Festival in Saint-Brieuc, Istraille opened the M.U.R. on place Poulain-Corbion, a wall where each work is painted over by the next. The piece shows "Bretonnes urbaines" wearing the surdos, the local headdress known as the "pigeon's wing".
