Biography
Sophie Convers is a Lyon-based artist trained in applied arts, with a BTS in fashion design. She first worked in fashion, textile and graphic design before building a practice of her own, moving into painting by way of abstract collages cut from magazines.
Now a full-time artist, she paints mostly in acrylic, sometimes adding spray paint or oil pastels, on canvas, walls, wood, furniture and salvaged materials. Drawing on the Bauhaus, the Memphis movement, Paul Klee and Sonia and Robert Delaunay, she works on the relationships between shape, rhythm and balance, with a stated aim of taking art beyond gallery walls.
Her murals appear in several districts of Lyon, including rue Chalopin and rue Jean Larrivé. At the Val d'Arly Street Art Festival she painted "Perspective chromatique" in Flumet, and she is part of omart's 2026 intake.
