Biography

Zeso, who also goes by Zesoner, was born Thomas in 1978 and grew up in the Lyon area. He found graffiti as a teenager in the 1990s through lettering and tagging, with no formal art training, while also training as a cook and working in high-end kitchens.

In 2005 he moved to New York, keeping his job as a chef while building a name on the graffiti scene, from 5Pointz to Bushwick. He painted with the TD4 crew (The Deadly4Mula), having painted with OTM, WF and NSA back in France, and became known for complex compositions and large solo walls. He names Japanese and Latino imagery, along with Gustav Klimt, among his influences.

After ten years in the United States he returned to France in 2016 to work as an artist full time, moving from walls to canvas during a seven-month residency at Street Art City. Now based in Barcelona and represented by Galerie Vieceli, he painted at the Val d'Arly Street Art Festival in Savoie in 2026.
