Biography

Born in Bratislava, Slovakia, Niki Zsurikova (Nikola Zsuriková) was drawn to drawing, painting and modelling from an early age. She trained in restoration at the Josef Vydra School of Applied Arts in Bratislava before studying architecture and urban planning at the Faculty of Architecture of the Slovak University of Technology (STU FA).

A painter and performer, she paints live on stage with singers and DJs, work that has taken her to Dubai, Paris, Marbella, Marrakech and Casablanca. She draws on the Renaissance and mythology, reworking them in a contemporary idiom that pairs a realistic base with street art interventions. Her sculptural series "Ni-Žu" deals with the unseen bonds between people, and she also works in digital art and NFTs, one of which was sent into space aboard a satellite.

Shown by RD Gallery 21 in Bratislava, she took part in the Val d'Arly Street Art Festival, turning Michelangelo's David into an alpine skier on a wall in Crest-Voland.
