Biography
Born in the Paris suburbs, Julien Ekiem was drawn to images from an early age. He studied graphic design, went freelance in 2007 and now lives in Lyon, where he works as a visual artist and art director.
His style is built on clean, moulded lines, stylised shapes, bold colours, repeated patterns and a strong use of lettering. It runs through screen prints, t-shirts, stickers, canvases and murals. He has exhibited since 2007, first in Grenoble and Lyon (Nahual, SpaceJunk), then abroad in Singapore, New York, Sydney and Airola in Italy.
His projects include a spray-painted mural for Ninkasi, a 65 m² indoor mural for Nexity and a canvas shown at Lucas Beaufort's Art Camp. In 2024 he painted a mural drawn from the mountain landscape in the village centre of Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe for the Val d'Arly Street Art Festival.
