Biography
Active on the graffiti scene since 1997, Osru is based in Lyon's 7th arrondissement. He painted his first walls in the 1st and 8th arrondissements and in Villeurbanne, and for more than ten years worked in a duo with the artist Violon, sharing a studio with him.
Moving from walls to canvas led him to a style between abstraction and figuration, built on patterns and geometric lines, in which nature and birds often appear. He works with spray paint, acrylic, watercolour, screen printing, linocut and woodcut, the latter carried over onto skateboard decks whose wear marks he keeps.
He painted a 5 by 15 metre quarry wall in Burgundy for the Street Art on the Rock festival, took part in Peinture Fraîche and Airt de Famille in Lyon, and belongs to omart's 2022 intake. In 2024, at the Val d'Arly Street Art Festival, he and Abys2fly painted a mural in Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle, his roller-drawn lines surrounding an ibex covered in foliage.
