Biography
Quetzilla is a French painter and muralist with a background in visual and urban arts. His signature is making figurative work abstract: inspired among others by the English painter Clive Head, he works from layered photographs, mixing opacity and transparency to bring movement into the painting.
He seeks to unsettle the viewer's eye so that one image can be read in several ways. His subjects reflect his daily life, his experiences and his travels.
Since his first tapes and CDs, hip-hop, urban culture and music have held a major place in his life. He has made cover art for several rappers, including Mattic, Henry Canyons and Homeboy Sandman. In 2025 he painted "Souvenir de Rabat" in Rillieux-la-Pape, inspired by a stay in Morocco.
