M.Dangelo

M.Dangelo, whose name is Marlène Dangelo, is an artist who grew up in Rillieux-la-Pape. A follower of hip-hop culture, she has practised breakdancing since her teens, a passion that led her to art and then to street art.

Graffiti is now part of her life. She draws on everyday life, nature, animals and current events, depicted with an often whimsical, cartoon-like aesthetic. Showcasing women lies at the heart of her work: big arms and scars stand for female strength, showing that women can be victims but also warriors.

Equally at ease with murals, illustration and sculpture, she painted a wall in Ditzingen, the town's German twin, for Street Art Rillieux in 2023, followed by two participatory murals on impasse Beethoven in 2024.
