Thomas Berthuel Bonnes

Originally from Toulouse and now based in Bayonne, Thomas Berthuel-Bonnes trained at the Académie Bayard drawing school and the Toulouse School of Photography. His abstract painting centres on colour, blue above all, and on wave-like forms. His best-known series, LIAB (Life Is a Breath), uses a blue formula he developed himself, with specific drying properties. He has shown work in Toulouse, Paris, London and San Diego and at the contemporary art museum of Martres-Tolosane. His 2024 exhibition !MiDi!, devoted to the Canal du Midi, gave 40% of sales to replanting the canal's trees. In Bayonne he has painted a mural of curving parallel blue lines.
