Biography
Sebas Velasco was born in Burgos in 1988, started painting graffiti there in 2004 and went on to study fine art at the University of the Basque Country in Bilbao, where he is based. His murals, in spray paint and acrylic, and his oil paintings depict urban landscapes and portraits, with close attention to night scenes and artificial light. Regular trips to Poland and the former Yugoslavia feed a long-running body of work on city outskirts, modernist housing blocks, old cars and dated sportswear, collaged from his own photographs. He belongs to Formato Norte, a collective of Basque artists, and had a solo show at the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo in 2025. In 2017 he and Xabier Anunzibai painted "Hemen sartzen dena bere etxean da" on rue Denis Etcheverry in Bayonne for the Points de Vue festival.
