Alecrim

Alecrim is the name used by Nuno Alecrim, a Portuguese visual artist born in Lisbon in 1983 and now based in Caldas da Rainha. Trained in graphic communication design, he works with a pictographic vocabulary: each idea gets its own symbol, set among textures and patterns in mostly monochrome compositions drawn from primitive art and nature. He tries wherever possible to fold the work into the architecture of the site. His murals are part of the Marvila urban art collection in Lisbon, and he was a guest artist at ARTURb in Lagos in 2024. His 2019 mural for Points de Vue in Bayonne, Hold Your Time on avenue du Quai Resplandy, uses geometric forms to explore time and structure.
