Biography
Born in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, in 1973, this French painter, illustrator and street artist trained in graphic arts at the Lycée Corvisart in Paris and then at the École des Beaux-Arts in Reims. She lives in the Oise, north of Paris. Her technique rests on layers of coloured hatching that blend optically in the viewer's eye, a drawn cousin of Impressionist colour mixing. She often sets classical figures against urban codes, and nature is her main source. Her street project "Exodus, ils arrivent..." brings wild animals into the city. She showed at the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature and at Fluctuart in Paris in 2022. At Points de Vue in October 2025, Nadège Dauvergne painted "Moments Heureux" in Bayonne. The piece reworks Léon Bonnat's 1872 painting "L'Italienne" and ties in with the reopening of the Bonnat-Helleu museum. In May 2025 she painted "N P LÉ N" in Fontainebleau, a fragmented take on Jacques-Louis David's "Napoleon Crossing the Alps", for the Festival de l'Histoire de l'Art.
